Each title has its own history including how it was made, where it was made, the backstory of the author, its travel history over the years and more. Be mindful of your budget.
One of the most important reasons to focus when collecting is because acquiring books can be an expensive endeavour. A first edition with a poor condition dust jacket will not value as high when selling or trading because condition matters. Collect the best condition copy of a title that you can afford. A completist is someone whose goal is to collect every title from a particular author or genre. This is a tremendously ambitious and often time expensive goal.
